If you go down near the volley ball courts in Pacific beach you can actually walk out on these solid rock piers. It's quite fun, and at the end someone has built a little wooden structure to watch the sunset. I imagine these two were headed out there.

A friend from out of town was visiting and we picked up these awesome 'beach cruisers' and rode around Pacific beach. Was totally an awesome way to spend the day.

Waiting for the plane

A fellow traveler waits for the plane while in the airport. In places like Beijing it's fairly common to see foreigners milling around, but I was in a fairly remote city so this guy stood out like an eye sore. He seemed to want to have nothing to do with other foreigners or speaking English, so I left him alone.

Metro ride

At one point we had to move out of the rural village into another province of China. I had become very sick so flying was the last thing on my mind. As we were being shuttled to the plane I snapped this shot of another passenger trying to get to the plane. The flight was one of the most turbulent I've ever experienced in my life. Food trays literally flew off of our trays. Terrifying!

On my travels one of the places we stayed at was a small rural village a couple hours outside of Beijing. The trip was... interesting to say the least. We gave our cab the address written in Chinese, but even still he had to keep calling someone to find directions. At one point our path was literally blocked by corn on the road from farmers. This photo was taken outside of our hotel. I think it was one of the children that lived in the village.
